Knowing Is Not Enough

In this series we are taking a step back, and reconsidering where we are as Jesus followers.  Our info-rich computer, and Google-driven daily experiences make it clear: endless knowledge is right here at our fingertips! For believers, it is so easy to become enamored with “more info!" Not a problem at first glance, but it can become the endpoint of our journey with Jesus, instead of the endpoint He has for us…becoming His servants and doers, not hearers only!  As we start the new year, I invite you go with us on a journey of reminder and discovery, or re-discovery of six important attitudes and applications that can get out of focus in all the noise of life we’ve all experienced lately. Peter, writing to his followers in 2 Peter 1, clarified the importance of reminding us of what we claim to “already know!”  He says in verse 12, “Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.” Let’s re-discover the truths “we already know” that might actually be “missing in action” and put them into play, and enjoy the difference that moving from knowing to doing can have in your life!
