We exist to engage every person to find, follow, and love Jesus.
OUR MISSION
FOCUS ON FINDING JESUS
None of us were born Christians! Step one for every person is to FIND Jesus! He is not hard to find but you must have your eyes opened to your need for a Savior- because of the sin-problem we all have! “Your sins have separated you from your God," Jesus said, “I didn’t come to condemn the world but to save the world from sin!” He is the perfect “mediator” between God and Man. Our hope is every person finds Him and believes in Him as Savior from their sin! He offers forgiveness and eternal life and a relationship with God to all who do.
FOCUS ON FOLLOWING JESUS
His early disciples did more than just “accept” who Jesus was. They followed Him! They listened to His words, believed He was the Savior of the world, they conformed their lives to His teaching, and they did what He did. They loved & served others in selfless ways, they told people about Jesus, they met together for teaching and encouragement and they pointed those who connected with them to do the same.
FOCUS ON LOVING JESUS
Jesus wants a relationship with each of us! Loving Jesus is what those who come to Him can do! Loving Jesus starts with obeying what He teaches and moves us to enjoying His presence! It’s the first command, ”Love the Lord with all your heart and soul and mind and strength!” Growing in your devotional life, worship experiences, contentment, and joy are all found as you Love Jesus more. Jesus offers friendship to His followers. Our opportunity is to learn how to walk with Him as Lord and friend!

FOCUS ON THE WORD
The Bible is the blueprint on how we should live our lives. We strongly believe that if we follow God's teaching in the Word of God that we will become more like Jesus, grow stronger in our personal lives and moral conduct, we'll become better representatives of Jesus as a Church body, and we'll help fulfill His great commission to reach and disciple lost people!. "Every word of God proves true."
(Prov. 30:5) And, that truth, can set you truly free!!
FOCUS ON GOD
The story of reality is God's story! It is about Him! He created the heavens and the earth and man and everything else! Since that is true, life is not all about US! We are part of His story... history! When we learn that God is the main character of reality, then we find our place as His beloved children, who were saved by God sending HIs Son Jesus, to pay the price for our moral rebellion! That is a humbing and wonderful story, but oh so true! Now we live in His kingdom, with His resources, relying on HIs word for faith and practice and we are committed to fulfilling His purposes for our lives! What a great way to live!
FOCUS ON EACH OTHER
Jesus, in the upper room in Jerusalem just before his arrest, crucifixion and resurrection, left one last message that defined how HIs followers were to relate to one another going forward. In John 13:34-35, Jesus says this: "So now I am givng you a new commandment: love each other, just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will PROVE to the world that you are my disciples." There it is! The glue that holds this church together and the reason people will want to be part of such a movement... selfless love that is seen not just talked about! We want that kind of love to permeate every part of our Baycities Lomita family experiences.

Since 1988, Baycities Community Church had a simple goal...help people connect with Jesus through faith in Him alone, discovering Jesus through the Word of God and finding community among people who follow Him. The result is... an inspired life refocused to love and serve others in Jesus' Name! From our Baycities Kids (our infant thru 5th grade) ministry, Ignite Student Ministries (our middle and high school ministry), Growth Groups and New Community (our adult small group ministry), our Lomita Labor of Love (serving our city and area) and our missions connections beginning for us in Uganda and extending througout the world as a Missionary Church, we aim to do our part & "BE" the church of Jesus Christ...right here in Lomita!
